The Horizon Term is the second part of our course The Season of Becoming, where the flower is now able to see the horizon. Your child is flourishing as a person and as Year 7 approaches we gear up so they can have a high-performing start.
Our Horizon Term runs slightly longer than the Flourish Term with a 6 week “Adventure in Learning Project” where the children are tasked with different activities to be completed unassisted (as one would in Secondary School) for the children to have another sense of what Year 7 would be like.
The Horizon Term consists of 4 main modules
Ready, set, speak!
Habit Quest: Adventure in Learning Project
Social Smarts: Logged On & Off
Secondary School 101
What to Expect
Each module contains activities for both the classroom and at home with the expectation that everything taught in class to be practised at home. Our bespoke booklets are filled with interactive projects to foster innovation and solidify the foundation of life skills being taught.
Our sessions are held weekly for 1 hour 30 minutes intensive yet personalised, with Finishing Activities given to be completed for the next week. They alternate between in-person and online; though some may think so, this does not disadvantage your child in any way, but instead allows our services to be accessible to all who want to better themselves.
At the end of the Horizon Term, a celebratory showcase is held to present everything learned throughout the term to friends and family.
Who is this Term designed for?
For children excited to become the best, authentic version of themselves before Year 7 starts. Helping them build strong habits, social awareness, and self-belief during a vital transition — while giving parents clarity and reassurance.
For parents unsure about what Year 7 entails, looking for guidance on how to support their child and ensure they flourish from January—rather than losing momentum after the 11+ exams.
